The Carnegie Way

Tools

Skilled Practitioners
Rather than entering into an engagement with a preconceived notion of what tool is right for the job, or leading with a skill set that we currently have available, Carnegie Technology Group does things quite differently. We believe that only after determining the appropriate vision, scope and optimal set of requirements can software tools and platforms be selected. Bottom line, tools are just tools; it takes a skilled practitioner working from a solid design to produce superior software solutions.

Innovative Yet Appropriate Solutions
Well-architected and right-sized solutions are the mark of Carnegie Technology Group. Where appropriate we will recommend cutting-edge technology but will tend to be conservative with regard to the implementation of new and unproven solutions. You will only find recommendations coming from us that are suitable to your existing enterprise infrastructure.

Technology Agnostic
An agnostic approach critically reviews and analyzes business requirements and technology solution options to ensure the best solution is provided to the customer. To effectively take an agnostic approach, one must have in-depth experience with all major platforms, applications, and toolsets. And we do. Tools are tailored to the existing environment, maturity level of the business application, maintainability requirements, and existing IT staff skillsets.

By working closely with major technology providers such as Microsoft, Oracle, and Sun, Carnegie Technology Group is able to participate in beta tests of emerging applications and stay up to date on existing applications. We maintain a substantial test lab capability, which allows us to experiment with new technologies and be able to speak to the pros and cons and appropriate applications of these toolsets.
